Review: The New ‘God of War’ Game Is Different, Bold and Demands Your Attention

“戰神”系列的最新作品 “戰神God of War 在正式推出前就已經受到遊戲專業評論家一致的推崇,推出後玩家反響也非常正面。究竟是什麼讓它如此迷人? 另一神作 Last of Us  的續作也即將推出,或許可以期待遊戲在作爲故事的載體這個層次能追上、甚至超越電影和電視劇的現有地位,進一步拓展人類的文化體驗。

首先,你不必玩過”戰神”的前作也可以享受這款遊戲。

主角 Kratos 和兒子 Atreus 的關係爲劇情加上了不少深度:

The relationship between Kratos and his son Atreus adds a much-needed dimension to God of War that makes it feel like a holistic world with a compelling narrative, rather than just a good action game.

遊戲的戰鬥設計要求玩家發揮觀察力和制定策略,而不僅僅只是猛按按鍵:

What I love about the combat in God of War is that it requires so much more than just button mashing and weapon and armor upgrades. Rather, a healthy mix of quick reflexes and strategy is needed to win… you’ll continue to lose if you fail to read your enemies’ signals and learn how to block and dodge their assaults.

Kratos 也經常需要解決一些難度從適中到偏易的謎題 (puzzle)。

隨着遊戲的進行 Atreus 的能力也逐漸成長,Kratos 也在和 Arteus 的互動中, 在玩家眼中成爲一個更有血有肉的”神”:

The deeper you get into the game, the more you’ll realize that Kratos needs Atreus as much as Atreus relies on Kratos.

More importantly, Atreus plays a critical role in Kratos’ development as a character, which only becomes more evident as the game progresses. Kratos may teach Atreus how to hunt and fight, but Atreus helps Kratos learn how to connect on a personal level.

The small exchanges between Atreus and Kratos are among the game’s most delightful elements.

當然,這款遊戲的畫面非常的精美,給整個故事的沉浸感加了很多分。 Atreus 是一個很好的旅伴,他對環境的反應都很在點上,增添了不少玩家探索的樂趣。

整體來說這是一款非常完整、而且時常讓你驚嘆的好遊戲:

It’s challenging, beautiful, brutal, rewarding, and even a bit funny on occasion. Whether you’re a fan of the series or not, it’s well worth your time.

(以下爲編輯的個人意見) 個人非常喜歡遊戲內的神話設定以及視覺設計, World serpent 和巨人的畫面非常讓人印象深刻, 和刀槍不入的 Baldur 對戰的場面也很有震撼力,雖然很多橋段不是什麼新主意,但是實際的執行非常優秀。遊戲內有一些節奏過慢的地方,但整體來說瑕不掩瑜。

借用另一個 Review (God of War review: an incredible reimagining of a PlayStation icon) 的話:

On their own, the various elements that make up God of War don’t sound especially unique or interesting. But it’s the way they work together — how the story informs the action and vice versa — that makes it memorable. God of War takes a one-dimensional series and turns it into something with depth and emotion.
